It’s well-intentioned and they grasp overlying themes but they certainly took it in too many different directions that I didn’t enjoy whatsoever. There are plenty of parts of the film I enjoy and laugh at but it is in no way a movie I go back to at Christmas, like the cartoon one. I love Jim Carrey but he’s so over-the-top in his role. There were too many inside jokes I’m not sure even adults got. I think it’s terrible. The Who’s make up is terrible, they were all perceived as materialistic assholes that bullied the Grinch (sans Cindy-Lou). Jim Carrey had some funny moments, but it was mostly just his slapstick goofball style that he always pulled in his early career and it doesn’t fit well for.
